The SELEVISCO 9000 viscometer is a viscosity control system ideal for automating fluids regulation processes. Food preparations, such as emulsions, tomato puree, seed oil and other more viscous compounds like jams and spreads can be controlled, with our viscometer, both during the packaging process through the monitoring of inline viscosity, and during the processing, for example through the control of industrial plants’ frying oil degradation.

SELEVISCO control systems allow the measurement and correction of viscosity of any type of liquid food, cream, gel or emulsion. They operate through a patented measuring head placed in line with the flow, a control panel for the display and regulation of the rheologic properties as well as an array of accessories to complete the range of supply.

Thanks to a precise comparative logic the programmed viscosity value is compared to the value detected alarming according to the difference between the values measured by the viscometer and a setpoint. It is also possible to perform only the manual measurement by receiving the detected viscosity value from the system.

SELEVISCO control systems can be employed in various industrial sectors. In particular, they are especially suited for monitoring during the production and packaging phase fluids such as tomato puree, fruit juices, jam and preserves, spreads, chocolate, vegetable oil, in the dairy industry for the production of cheese, cream, ice-cream, milk, butter, yogurt. Viscometers are an ideal solution also in production and packaging plants of sauces like mayonnaise and ketchup, as well as many other applications with special performances that can be customized according to the clients’ needs.

SELEVISCO control systems allow the measurement of the viscosity of fluids through a patented vibrating sensorial system that is submerged in the food fluid to check.
The measuring head is embedded in an extremely resistant capsule, small and with the possibility of being anchored to external supports, thus easily allowing the installation in limited spaces. For food production plants it is possible to use an offline viscosity control system located inside tanks or sampling containers.

Thanks to a precise comparative logic, the system allows the constant maintenance of the correct mixing of different fluids. This type of application can be integrated and customized for various industrial sectors beside food industry.

The SELEVISCO series 9000 has been designed specifically for the control of viscosity, and is also employed in food preparations, emulsions, fluids and liquids. Our viscometer offers:

  • Wide range of application: this specific model is designed for viscosity verification within a field of 40 to 500 cps (corresponding approximately to 9 – 120 seconds using a Ford cup size 4) and therefore permits the control of inks, varnishes as well as many adhesives.
  • Extremely high precision: granting an outstanding reading tolerance with the possibility of modulating according to specific needs through personalized modes. The peculiar application allows the control of liquids in flowing conditions, thus permitting its application directly on the supplying pipeline. The system is also equipped with an integrated temperature control for data modulation based on its variation.
  • Minimum maintenance: the absence of moving elements eliminates the necessity of frequent maintenance. Furthermore, SELEVISCO can be integrated with a system of automatic washing cycles, guaranteeing efficiency and functionality for extremely long periods of time without any special arrangement.
  • The operating principle of the viscosity system is adaptable to multiple solutions. The main versions provide for the inline installation on the flow meant to be measured, or offline within containers. Both solutions are based on the patented principle of the vibrating reed and guarantee extremely high precision and reliability.

The measuring head is protected by an extremely resistant capsule of small dimensions, integrating proper anchoring arrangements in limited spaces.

Based on the vibrating technology, the offline sensor is installed directly into the tank, granting a better ease of use. The offline sensor is easy to clean and resistant to chemical corrosion thanks to its Teflon coating protection.

Operator friendly

The managing software allows data recording on recipes, allowing for setup and operational reputability. The data displaying and the controls are incorporated into the individual synoptics for each measuring unit. Alternatively, the measuring head can be connected to the touch screen operational interface, based on a Windows platform.

The SELEVISCO 9000 control panel allows the display of data and command execution.
Each control panel manages a unit of measurement and can be applied within existing frameworks or supplied integrated into custom pulpits.
In manual mode the system displays the viscosity measured by a single sensor and allows the operator to add the solvent to correct the viscosity value.
In automatic mode the system compares the programmed viscosity value and the measured one. Based on the magnitude of this difference new solvent is added to correct the error.

In case of malfunctioning or lack of solvent the system activates the proper visual and audible alarm to alert the operator. The system has been designed to be auto-cleaning. The solvent enters directly in the measuring sensor both during the regulation step and when the cleaning function is activated at the end of the job. Adequate liquids should be used for the washing cycles according to the fluids’ mixture (normally the solvent is used as a thinner for the ink).
The supply should be connected directly to an inlet port located on the measuring head. The data displaying and the controls are incorporated into individual synoptics for each measuring unit that can be retrofitted into existing cubicles or integrated on personalized consoles.

Alternatively, the measuring heads can be linked and interfaced to the machineries’ control systems through customized arrangements, or to PC systems with touch screen interface based on Windows operating systems, and complete with a specific software for job statistics.
The measuring heads and the control units are connected by electric wires, thus permitting the installation of these elements even within long distances.
