Automatic viscosity controls for inks, glues and varnishes

VISCOS CUP is a new electronic viscosimeter for measuring and regulating the inks in print presses. The working principle which reflects the measuring cup (Ford-4 or Zahn-2) guarantees high precision in measurements. The viscosimeters are constructed with the maximun level of protection, complying to the Intrinsic Security Eexi certificate of CESI.
The ink coming from the pump is circulated to a measuring cup which is filled to a pre-defined level. An electrovalve closes the circulation of ink and the time to empty the cup is measured. This time is analysed by a microprocessor and is displayed in seconds of unit Ford-4 (o Zahn-2).



Viscos CUP has two operation way. In manual mode the system displays the measured viscosity. The front panel keyboard is used to correct the error by adding new solvent. In automatic mode the system executes a comparison between the programmed viscosity and the measured one. Based on the magnitude of the difference new solvent is added to correct the error. In case of malfuction or lack of solvent the system activates (error signals) visual and sound to alert the operator. The measuring cup is designed to be auto-cleaning. The solvent enters directly to the cup during the regulation, or when activating the cleaning function at the end of the job.
